A unspoiled and hidden gem near the coast in the Axarqu\u00eda region of Andalusia. V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga is located near the coastal town of Torre del Mar, and is a working agricultural hub with an attractive historical centre. V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga is off the tourism trial, over here you will not be greeted in your native language, menus are not translated and you will not find tourism trap shops. V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga is where the Spanish work and live. And if you do seek more touristically known places such as Nerja and Malaga, reaching them is easy and quick as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n My name is Lisa Verbeek, the owner of La Casa Mirador. Originally from the Netherlands, me and my daughter Sienna (6), took a dive into the deep and moved to Spain in 2024. After having visited many different regions, cities and towns, we fell in love with the Axarqu\u00eda region, and especically with V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga. This historical, yet vibrant city has it all for us. With many events going on, the centre with many shops on walking distance and the beach of Torre del Mar within only 10 minutes driving distance; V\u00e9lez-M\u00e1laga is the perfect combination of coast and culture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After visiting several houses I came across a unique two floor house in the historical area, near the famous ‘Fortaleza’. What makes this place so special is that it is actually divided into two houses. Both with their own private entry, and living space. This is when the dream of La Casa Mirador was born, and made into reality not long after. With love and care I have created a lovely boutique guesthouse, with the most amazing views over town, the mountains and the sea in the far distance.
